Always support your newborn’s head and neck. To pick up baby, slide one hand under baby’s head and neck and the other hand under their bottom. Bend your knees to protect your back. Once you’ve got a good hold, scoop up your baby and bring baby close to your chest as you straighten your legs again.

Can I sit down with baby carrier?
Yes, sitting while babywearing is safe as long as your baby’s legs and feet are clear from the sitting surface and no other body parts are being squeezed or pinched by the carrier. I like to hold my son’s feet together and slightly lift them before sitting down.
Is baby wearing a bad habit?
Once you safely can wear your baby I want you to know that babywearing is not a bad habit you are forming! Sure practicing sleeping in the crib for 1 or 2 naps is a great idea, but guess what? … Naps don’t truly begin to consolidate until a few months old and the best nap to have in the crib is the first nap of the day.
